Accreditation

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is accredited by the Southern States CME Collaborative to provide continuing education for physicians.

Purpose

The Continuing Medical Education Committee's mission is to provide opportunities for physician education to further physician performance and competence as well as patient outcomes through the integration of new medical knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Content Areas

CME offerings will be presented with relevant curricula, working in conjunction with the Performance Improvement department to identify those specific areas of need within our organization.

Target Audience

Continuing Medical Education at Our Lady of the Lake RMC will provide for the perceived and expressed educational needs of the specialties represented on the medical staff. Allied health professionals and other physicians from the community and around the state may also be invited.

Types of Activities

CME offerings include regular case conferences, Mortality and Morbidity Conferences, Grand Rounds, Didactic Lectures, Video and Audio Conferences and enduring materials.

Expected Results

The CME Committee uses outcomes measurements and data to track results, with an expectation that, through a written evaluation, participants will indicate that the information received will benefit their practice, and that areas of practice identified in the needs assessment show improvement in their patient outcomes.

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center's Continuing Medical Education Program will maintain accreditation through the Southern States CME Collaborative in order to provide AMA/PRA credit for CME activities.
